P.J. Teddies
I wanted to make something special for some family friends who have two very sweet young girls.  When their mom told me that they liked teddy bears, I was thrilled as I absolutely love making teddies (see Valentine Teddy, Mini Cupcake Bear, Graduation Teddy and Teddy Bear Keychains).  I myself used to collect teddies when I was younger, and my siblings and I would act out elaborate storylines with...

Paper Art: Tower Bridge
While we were vacationing in San Francisco, we payed the “Exploratorium” a visit.  The Exploratorium is the museum of science, art, and human perception, and they had some pretty cool interactive exhibits.  We always love going to the gift stores afterwards, and on this occasion, Ryan found a book that piqued his interest.  We purchased “The Paper Architect: Fold-It-Yourself...

Amigurumi for Beginners
Ever since I started my blog, it’s been great connecting with people from a wide variety of backgrounds in crochet.  Some have been crocheting for years but have never tried crocheting stuffed animals.  Some used to crochet but gave it up as life got too busy.  Some have never picked up a crochet hook before in their life but are interested in learning!  Crocheting is easy to learn and now...

San Francisco Food Adventures
We recently visited San Francisco for the very first time and got to see the famous sites and taste the delicious food that the city had to offer.  Thank goodness I packed thicker clothes since it was foggy and quite chilly and windy most of the time we were there.  There were many unprepared tourists who were wearing oversized “San Francisco” hoodies to keep warm!  Some of our...

The Invisible Decrease
A few weeks ago, I found out about another technique that has changed and greatly facilitated the way I make amigurumi, much like the Magic Circle which I previously blogged about.  Before, I would lament about how there were holes and bumps when I decreased my stitches when closing up a ball.  Imagine my delight when I learned about “The Invisible Decrease” method, in which you...

Vietnamese Salad Rolls
Ryan and I love going out for Vietnamese food to eat phở and bún.  When we feel like having an appetizer, we typically order deep fried spring rolls.  However, I LOVE eating Vietnamese salad rolls, but I always feel guilty when ordering them since they seem like something we could easily make at home!  Salad rolls are so healthy and they have such a delicious taste with all the different textures...

Skor Toffee Crunch Blondies
My favourite chocolate bar of all time has to be Skor.  There’s just something about that delicious crunch of butter toffee covered by milk chocolate that is irresistible to me.  Once I take the first bite out of a Skor bar, I pretty much can’t resist and end up eating the whole thing!  This may be random, but I remember eating Skor bars when I was younger and reading “Charlie...
